Your smile is important!

If you feel self-conscious about your smile, you may find yourself trying to cover your mouth when you talk and prefer to blend into the background. When you feel happy with your smile, your confidence shines through and you wear it with pride wherever you go.

Thanks to advancements in ::orthodontics:: in the past decade, achieving the beautiful smile of your dreams is much easier than it used to be, courtesy of Invisalign. The comfortable, clear, and removable braces have transformed millions of smiles all over the world, will you be next?

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a method of straightening teeth, which uses removable aligners that are custom-made just for you. The clear aligners are replaced every two weeks, gradually realigning your teeth little by little until the final position is reached, transforming your smile.

Invisalign treatment is a great option for those with mild or moderate orthodontic problems, such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, turned teeth, gaps, and crowded teeth. Your orthodontist or local Invisalign dentist will be able to give you a better idea if you’re a good candidate.

5 Things to Know About Invisalign

If you’re considering Invisalign treatment but want to know more before taking the plunge, here are the five things you’re probably dying to know.

1. How does Invisalign work?

The first step on your Invisalign journey will be a consultation with your dentist, who will discuss with you the desired outcome of your treatment and what can be achieved with the aligners. Impressions and scans will be taken of your teeth. A 3-D image of your teeth is created, which is used to map out the precise movement of teeth needed to straighten the teeth for the desired final result. Once the treatment plan is decided, a series of clear aligners will be custom made just for you, using the latest 3D printing technology. Unlike traditional braces that use a wire attached to the teeth, to push or pull them into a better alignment, the Invisalign treatment pushes the teeth into more optimal alignment with a series of plastic aligners that are replaced every few weeks. To get the best results from Invisalign, a high level of patient compliance is required. If the aligners are not worn as directed by your orthodontist – such as wearing them for the required duration, correct cleaning routine, and avoiding certain foods and beverages – your progress will become slower and slower, and possibly stop completely.
